Katharine S. Walker

Attorney at Law

Katie’s journey in the legal profession started in 1998 as a receptionist and secretary for a solo practice attorney in Cotswold—back when faxes were still a big deal, and computer programs ran on floppy disks. She worked her way up while attending UNC-Charlotte, eventually becoming a paralegal and law office manager. After earning her law degree from Charlotte School of Law in 2011 and passing the North Carolina Bar, she quickly built a reputation for her expertise and sharp negotiation skills. She expanded her practice to South Carolina in 2013, and in 2021, she took the leap to open her own firm.

Now, Katie leads a thriving practice focused on commercial real estate, corporate law, estate planning, and estate administration. She’s handled everything from complex land assemblages to multimillion-dollar business acquisitions—think hotels, gas stations, and franchise deals. Whether it's navigating boundary line disputes, negotiating easements, or incorporating new businesses, Katie knows how to get deals across the finish line.

When she’s not immersed in contracts and closings, Katie is all about family. She and her husband, James Hollins, have three young children—Walker, Brodie, and Caroline—who keep life fun, busy, and full of surprises. In her free time, she enjoys urban cycling, baking (with varying levels of success), and exploring Charlotte’s art and live music scene.

Katie’s clients appreciate her deep legal knowledge, practical approach, and the fact that she keeps things refreshingly straightforward—because legal work is serious, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring.
